Skincare Ingredient Checker
Pick two active ingredients to see if they are safe in the same routine, how to schedule them and what to watch for.
How it works
Each pair is rated from dermatology guidance: “Great together”, “Use at different times” (morning and night, or alternate nights) or “Avoid together”. If your skin stings or peels, stop and ask a dermatologist.
General rule: introduce one active at a time, patch-test behind the ear for 24 hours and always finish the morning routine with sunscreen.

Retinoids are not recommended in pregnancy. Ask your doctor before using any active.
In what order do I layer products?
Thinnest to thickest: cleanser, toner or essence, serums, moisturiser, then sunscreen in the morning.
How many actives are too many?
For most people, one or two actives at a time is plenty.
